Gary Hall
Managing Director, joined OPP in 1998. A graduate in Drama from Loughborough University, and with a Certificate in Acting from a London drama school, he then changed direction and moved into public relations and design, working for French Jones in Henley, handling everything from major product launches to contentious environmental planning decisions. In 1990, Gary moved to Open University Press in Buckingham to become promotion manager and later joined the senior management team, overseeing all marketing and publicity for the company's academic and professional publishing programme.
Carolyn Birch
Senior Sales & Marketing Manager, joined OPP in April 2003 having previously worked as a marketing executive at Open University Press. During the 10 years she spent with them she was responsible for promoting a range of academic titles in the social sciences. She has a degree in English Studies/History of Art.
Matthew Surzyn
Senior Sales & Marketing Manager, joined OPP in June 2007 from Oxbow Books in Oxford, where he was trade sales and distribution manager. He has an MSc in information science, has worked within university libraries, academic book retail and academic book wholesale.
Nikki Lawrence
Sales & Marketing Administrator, joined OPP in March 2007, having previous field marketing, account management and promotion experience with various marketing service agencies. Nikki's clients in these previous roles have included Autoglass, Avon, Jeyes, Prices, Welcome Break and Compass.
Tracy Gardner
Publicist, has many years of academic and professional publishing experience with Catchword, Ingenta, CABI Publishing, Research Machines and Scholarly Information Strategies (SIS). Joining OPP in the Spring of 2007, Tracy's publicity skills are benefiting OPP's leading print and broadcast media campaigns.
Kate Shepherd
Publicist, has many years of trade and academic publishing experience and has worked in PR and marketing for OUP, Blackwell Publishers, Little, Brown, Duckworth and Ingenta. Joining OPP in 2006, Kate has promoted a diverse range of titles published by OPP's clients to a huge variety of print and broadcast journalists.
